1. Description of Service

The Platform is a networking and communication tool designed to connect runners (“Runners”) with independent individuals offering pacing (“Pacers”), race support (“Crew”), and athletic coaching or training advice (“Coaches”) (collectively, “Users”).

RacePaceCrew.com is a venue only.

• We do not employ, endorse, screen, certify, or supervise Runners, Pacers, Crew, or Coaches.
• We do not verify the credentials, coaching certifications, or athletic experience of any User.
• We provide the technology to facilitate connections, and all interactions, arrangements, and agreements are made directly between Users.

2. Assumption of Risk & Physical Activity

Endurance running, training, racing, pacing, and crewing are inherently dangerous activities that involve risks of serious bodily injury, illness (including overtraining syndrome and heat illness), permanent disability, and death.

• User Responsibility: You acknowledge that you are voluntarily participating in these activities and following any advice or training plans at your own risk. You represent that you are physically fit and medically able to participate.
• Medical Disclaimer: The Platform, its features, and the Coaches using the platform do not provide medical advice. Any training plans, nutritional advice, or safety information provided on or through the Platform are for educational and informational purposes only. Always consult a physician before beginning any intense training regimen.

3. No Commercial Transactions on the Platform

The Platform is currently free to use for connecting and communicating. RacePaceCrew.com does not facilitate payments, process transactions, or handle billing between Runners, Pacers, Crew, or Coaches.

If a Coach charges for their services, or if a Runner compensates a Pacer/Crew member for expenses (like gas or race entry fees), those transactions must happen entirely outside of the Platform. RacePaceCrew.com is not responsible for any financial disputes, unpaid fees, or broken financial agreements between Users.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RacePaceCrew.com, its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any damages, injuries, losses, or claims arising out of or related to your use of the Platform or your interactions with other Users.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Physical injury, illness, overtraining, or death occurring during training, coaching sessions, or a race.
• Property damage or theft (e.g., lost gear, damaged vehicles at crew stations).
• The professional negligence, malpractice, or inadequate advice of any Coach.
• The failure of a Pacer, Crew member, or Coach to show up or perform duties.
• Any emotional distress or personal disputes arising from user interactions.

The “At-Your-Own-Risk” Rule: All interactions, coaching advice, training schedules, transportation, and race-day logistics are strictly at your own risk.

5. User Conduct & Race Rules

By using this Platform, you agree to:

• Provide Accurate Information: Keep your profile, experience level, coaching certifications (if applicable), and safety preferences accurate and truthful. Coaches must not misrepresent their qualifications or certifications.
• Comply with Race Regulations: Users must strictly adhere to the official rules of the specific race they are participating in (e.g., specific pacing zones, crew vehicle permits, mandatory gear). The Platform is not responsible for any runner disqualifications.
• Maintain Respectful Conduct: Harassment, discrimination, abusive language, or unsafe behavior will result in an immediate and permanent ban from the Platform.

6. No Background Checks or Vetting

You acknowledge that RacePaceCrew.com does not conduct criminal background checks, identity verification, medical screenings, or verification of running/coaching credentials on its Users.

• We highly recommend that Users communicate extensively, check references, and verify coaching certifications independently before entering into any coaching or race-day agreements.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RacePaceCrew.com from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

1. Your breach of these Terms.
2. Your interaction with, or advice given/received from, any other User.
3. Your participation in any running, coaching, training, pacing, or crewing activities.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Texas, USA, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action arising from these Terms must be filed in the courts of Fort Worth, Texas, USA.

9. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting the new Terms on the Platform or via email. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
